Alessandro Guido Baroni is the full name of the singer Alex Baroni.
Alex graduated in chemistry at the University of Milano and this passion is
handed down to him and his brother Guido by his mother Marina who is a
mathematician and by his father Giovanni who is a physicist.
But Alex shows since childhood an innate passion for music and forms a group
with some friends with whom he begins to sing covers of well-known singers.
In the 90s he devoted himself to music singing in Milanese clubs, then he
began to be part of choirs in some albums, first of all "Another road" by
the Genoese singer-songwriter Massimiliano Cattapani.
Then he becomes a chorister of great musicians such as Eros Ramazzotti,
Ivana Spagna, Francesco Baccini and Rossana Casale. He forms a band with
Andrea Zuppini and realizes his first album "Don't forget Disneyland"
produced by Eros Ramazzotti with whom Alex duets in the song that gives the
title to the album.
In the reissue of the disc which took place in 2007 the song "Lettera" was
also added, which was then republished in the "Alex Baroni Collection"
published in 2007.
Shortly after she joined the RAI Orchestra and as a chorister participates
in the Sanremo Festival in 1996.
In 1997 he began the collaboration with his producers Marco Rinalduzzi and
Massimo Calabrese who will write with him almost all the songs in his
repertoire.
He made his debut in the "Youth" category of the Sanremo Festival in 1997
with the song "Cambiare" and won the prize as "Best voice" of the Festival
awarded by the jury chaired by Luciano Pavarotti.
At the same time his album comes out under the record label "Dischi Ricordi"
which contains the Sanremo song "Cambiare" and other successful songs. The
album reaches an important place in the charts or 38 and is placed in the
"Top 200" of 1997 at 176th place.
In 1997 he collaborated on the Italian version of the soundtrack of the Walt
Disney film, "Hercules", giving voice to the male protagonist at a young age.
In the same year he is also present at the well-known "Premio Cittą di
Recanati" where he sings with an emerging singer.
He returns to the Sanremo Festival the following year, in 2018, with the
song "Sei o lei (What I want)" this time in the "Big" category thanks to the
place obtained in the charts with the previous album.
In 2018 in May, Alex Baroni participates in "Sanremo Top" from where his
tour will begin.
In February 1999 Alex Baroni was awarded in the Capitol with the "Oscar dei
Giovani" award for the previous year.
He participates in Ivan Graziani's posthumous album interpreting a song with
Umberto Tozzi entitled "It was a journey", a song signed by Graziani himself
for the music while the lyrics are signed by Renato Zero.
Also in 1999 he released his third album entitled "Ultimamente" which
contains the song "Liquid Floor", which also sees the participation of
Renato Zero as the author of the text of the song "And the sky took me with
him".
He tries again the selection at the Sanremo Festival with the song "Liquid
floor" but is not allowed.
Unfortunately, the album does not get the success of the two previous albums
but Alex still begins his tour which will last two years and does not give
up free and charity concerts.
He collaborates with the singer Giorgia for the album "Girasole" and in
particular for the drafting of "E 'the truth" and then later the
collaboration will continue with the song "Before tomorrow" contained in the
album "Senza Ali" by Giorgia released in 2001.
Giorgia on her part will also participate in Alex's projects, collaborating
with him on the text of "Outside my window".
Alex Baroni will start international collaborations such as with Simon Le
Bon, singer and lyricist of Duran Duran, George Michael the ex Wham !, and
Boy George ex leader of the Culture Club.
His life is brutally interrupted following a road accident that took place
on the afternoon of March 19, 2002 in Rome when he was hit by a car while he
was on board his motorcycle. Alex was thrown from the bike and catapulted
into another car that was traveling at high speed.

hospital and dies 25 days later on the morning of April 13 at the young age
of 35.
His funeral takes place in Milan two days after his private death and today
Alex is buried in the "Greek" cemetery in Milan.
Everyone remembers the important love story he had with the singer Giorgia
whom he met in 1997 and was by her side until the day of her disappearance.
Giorgia experienced moments of great suffering that marked her profoundly.
Last year Alex's mother Marina went missing after contracting the
coronavirus.
In 2002, immediately after her death, a collection entitled "Simply Alex
Baroni" was released, which will become the singer's best-selling album and
will reach position number 2 in the charts and will even be placed at number
17 in the Italian chart in the same year. exit.
His beloved Giorgia dedicated three songs to him: Forever, Gocce di memoria
and Marzo. But Alex's presence also inspires the songs "L'eternitą" and
"Parlo con te".
Over the years numerous collections dedicated to the artistic memory of the
great Alex Baroni have been released, the latest being the "Alex Baroni
Collection".

renamed the "Alex Baroni Award".
The Sanremo Festival also dedicates a tribute, albeit momentarily, to Alex,
dedicating him the "Critics Award" for the "New Proposals" category.
The Paola & Chiara album entitled "Festival" and Giorgia's album entitled "Things
never go as you think" are dedicated to him.
A few days ago, the thirteenth of April, marks the nineteenth anniversary of
the death of the young and extraordinary singer-songwriter who left us early,
too soon.
"Divi & Cinema" wants to remember him in this way with a memory of the
director Annarita Campo who met him a few years before his death and met the
day before his tragic death.
<<I
met Alex in 1996. Our friendship was born as a result of a fax sent by me to
a television broadcast that Alex kept and then he replied by letter giving
me his phone number. A splendid person with a beautiful and pure soul. Then
we got lost for some time due to both private and professional commitments
and we met again by fate the day before his accident. I was at the studios
studying as a director and he happened to be there to meet someone. I went
to the bar and he went out. As soon as he saw me his eyes sparkled and he
came to meet me calling me by name, he had a great joy to see me. He went
back to the bar with me and we had coffee together. We both went out we said.
Let's take a picture together so we can immortalize this moment. And that
was the last photo taken of Alex Baroni. He got on his motorbike and ran
away to meet what would have been his destiny. premature of him. I will
always remember his sweetness, his splendid smile, the clear eyes that shone
with cleanliness and I will always remember his songs and listening to his
songs I will always remember him. Of the wonderful Alex with the beautiful
heart! >>.
This is how we remember Alex Baroni 19 years after his death.
