"Game of Thrones" is a fantasy / drama television series broadcast for the first time on April 17, 2011. In fact, today we are celebrating ten years since the release of the saga.
It debuts and is broadcast on the HBO television channel for 8 seasons and for a total of 73 episodes.
"Game of Thrones" tells of the power struggle between seven noble houses and many are the main characters of this saga.
The series is set in a fictional world consisting of "Westeros" which is the Western continent and "Essos" which is the Eastern one. The center of the Western continent is the largest and most civilized, whose capital is the city of "King's Landing" where the Game of Thrones of the Seven Kingdoms is located.
Seven noble and powerful families fight for the conquest of the throne, clashing or allying with each other in a dark and twisted power game that also involves the last descendant of the ruling dynasty.
The economic and political intrigues of the fighting nobles simultaneously leave the population in poverty and utter decay as an ice age threatens the world by awakening magical creatures and dark forces.
"Game of Thrones" known in Italy as "Game of Thrones" has reached a record number of viewers, creating an exceptional number of fans all over the world who follow the saga and every related project.
The saga was also won over by critics who praised the story, the characters and the quality of the production. Although at the same time it has attracted criticism for the excessive presence of nude scenes or physical and sexual violence
The saga holds nine world records, 59 Emmy awards out of 160 nominations, making it the most recognized TV series by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
