From Sky to Netflix.
After the digital platform has launched the fiction on Totti, Netflix, an
online film distribution company, here is the launch of the film, on the "Divin
Codino", Roberto Baggio, which highlights the career of a champion, that of
Baggio for the 'in fact, which would have been even more brilliant without
the serious injuries.
It also speaks of the life of a man who manages to fight frailty thanks to
the religion and principles of Buddhism, which takes up one of the most
truthful maxims of football: "In football as in life".
Played by Andrea Arcangeli, under the careful direction of Letizia Lamartire,
in Baggio's film the most painful part of the footballer is retraced, bought
by Fiorentina in 85 and forced to play little for one knee (his Achilles
heel), that will haunt him throughout his career as a footballer.
The central focus of the film is the 1994 World Cup, the first time in
history in which the World Cup was decided on penalties. Baggio had never
taken a penalty over the crossbar (it had never even happened in training).
From which moment the champion is psychologically blocked, he no longer
believes in himself.
It is only thanks to the help of the family and the precious contribution of
Father Florindo Baggio, played by an always precious Andrea Pennacchi, that
Baggio finds the courage to get up again, an aspect also underlined by the
song in the film entitled "The man behind the champion" signed Diodato.
After the experience of Bologna, Milan and Inter, where the relationship
with the Nerazzurri coach Lippi is troubled, the player Baggio finds the
strength to start from scratch, raises the Brescia of Carlo Mazzone (played
by Martufello), taking him to eighth place in Serie A and then, as
Hitchcock's best screenplay foresees, here is a new twist, Trapattoni does
not call him into the national team for the World Cup in Korea and Japan.
The leitmotiv of "Il Divin Codino is" the goal is not important, but the
path to reach it ". As Baggio himself pointed out several times in his
interviews, “in the end, it is important to know that you have done
everything you could do to achieve the goal”.
'Il divin codino' does not focus only on Baggio as a footballer, but also on
his life and on his ability to become a real legend in the nineties.
The film also obtained the 'green' certification, given that the production
implemented a series of eco-sustainable behaviors on the set, with the aim
of reducing the environmental impact on the territory
